Against my better judgment I stopped to search for an alternate exit. We had walked so long without arriving anywhere in particular, that I figured we took a wrong turn.

Bad move. There was nothing but identical doorways, including the original, all sealed tight. The hell? I decided to returned to my co-workers for their reaction.

Everyone had gone ahead.

For a few moments, the empty hallway again seemed endless, but I pushed on, hoping to make up for my blunder. As I rounded the next corner, I could see a very orderly crowd of people walking towards me.
